All Island Iron fire pits and rocket stoves are built to last and are backed by a 5 year limited workmanship warranty. This warranty covers structural defects caused by workmanship, including welds cracking or breaking under normal use. Surface rust, steel discoloration, and natural patina are not covered under warranty. Surface rust will not affect the structural integrity of the product. We hand remove mill scale from all our products to ensure best adhesion for paint/oil. Another reason our products will last a lifetime is we fully weld every seam there are no stitch welds. Proper maintenance is required to maintain warranty coverage, including regular ash removal and storing the product in a dry area when not in use or during the off-season.

▾ Rocket Stoves – Finish & Maintenance

Island Iron rocket stoves come in bare steel with mill scale removed. To help prevent rust and achieve a timeless, seasoned finish, they must be seasoned similar to cast iron. This process creates a protective layer and enhances durability.

Regular maintenance includes keeping the stove dry when not in use and storing it in a covered or dry area during extended periods of non-use. Exposure to moisture without proper seasoning and maintenance will result in surface rust, which is not covered under warranty.

▾ Fire Pits – Finish & Maintenance

Island Iron fire pits are coated in high-heat flat black paint. To maintain appearance and performance, ash should be cleaned out regularly and the fire pit should be stored under cover or in a garage when not in use.

Due to high heat exposure and outdoor conditions, periodic touch-up painting may be required every few years to maintain the original finish. Cosmetic wear, fading, and paint discoloration are not covered under warranty.
